Homo sapiens (in Latin word 'wise man') is the species humans belong to(modern humans). Modern humans have a very delicate skeleton. They also have very large brains compared to previous species at approximately 1300 cubic centimetres with a skull which is thin walled and high valued, with a flat forehead. Our species began to evolve at nearly 200,000 years ago. We are extremely generically different from our ancestors due to how we had to also adapt into the new environment, diseases, etc.
It isn't clear on what all the consequences of the environmental and behaviour changes for the human race have been. However, it doesn't appear that the human body shrank by size over the last 10,000 years.
It's impossible to tell what we will evolve into in the future but it is for certain that we will continue to evolve and adapt to our surroundings to the point of extinction.
